This is a beautifully textured hat that looks great on anyone. The pattern is sized for babies, kids, women and men. It is worked in the round from the top down in an easy to memorize stitch pattern.

What you will need:
175 (190, 210, 231, 254) yds or 160 (173.7, 192, 211.2, 232.3)m #2 sport weight yarn
F/5 (3.75mm) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:
18 sts/ 10 rows = 4 in (10cm) in single and treble crochet pattern.

Instructions:
Hat Crown:
Ch6, slst to beg of chain to join in a round.
Round 1: Ch1, 10sc in ring, slst to first st at beg of round to join.
Round 2: Ch4 (counts as tr), tr in same st, *2tr in next st. Rep from * around, join with slst to top of ch4 at beg of round to join. — 20 sts
Round 3: Ch1, 2sc in first st, 1sc in next st. *2sc in next st, 1sc in next st. Rep from * around, join with slst to top of first st at beg of round. — 30 sts
Round 4: Ch4 (counts as tr), tr in same st. 1tr in ea of next 2 sts. *2tr in next st, 1tr in ea of next 2 sts. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch4 at beg of round to join. — 40 sts
Round 5: Ch1, 2sc in first st, 1sc in ea of next 3 sts. *2sc in next st, 1sc in ea of next 3 sts. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 50 sts
Round 6: Ch4, (counts as tr), tr in same st. 1tr in ea of next 4 sts. *2tr in next st. 1tr in ea of next 4 sts. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch5 at beg of round to join. — 60 sts
Round 7: Ch1, 2sc in first st. 1sc in ea of next 5 sts. *2sc in next st, 1sc in ea of next 5 sts. Rep from * around, slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. — 70 sts
Sizes 18 (20, 22, 24) only:
Round 8: Ch4 (counts as tr), tr in same st. 1tr in ea of next 6 sts. *2tr in next st, 1tr in ea of next 6 sts. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch4 at beg of round to join. — 80 sts
Sizes 20 (22, 24) only:

Hat Walls:
Sizes 18 (22) Only:
Round 1: Ch4 (counts as tr), work 1tr in ea st around, slst to top of ch4 at beg of round to join. — 80 (100) sts
Round 2: Ch1, sc in ea st around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 80 (100) sts
Rep rounds 1 – 2 until hat is 9 (11) in or 22.9 (27.9)cm from beginning.
Sizes 15.5 (20, 24) Only:
Round 1: Ch1, sc in ea st around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 70 (90, 110) sts
Round 2: Ch4 (counts as tr), work 1tr in ea st around, slst to top of ch4 at beg of round to join. — 70 (90, 110) sts
Rep rounds 1 – 2 until hat is 6 (9, 11) in or 15.2 (22.9, 25.4, 27.9)cm from beginning.
Hat Band:
Round 1: *1sc-blo in ea of next 5 (6, 7, 8) sts, sc2tog-blo in next 2 sts. Rep from * around. Do not join. Work in spiral for remainder of hat. — 60 (70, 80, 90, 100) sts
Rounds 2 – 5: 1sc-blo in ea st around. Do not join.
At the end of round 5, slst to join. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
