Design Inspiration for the Rachel Fingerless Mitts Crochet Pattern
The floral post stitch stitch pattern is not only texturally interesting and beautiful, but the heavily textured nature of this stitch pattern makes it a lofty and extra warm fabric – perfect for keeping your hands cold on a wintery day! I also think this pattern lends itself easily to modifications for working in the round, too. Which means you could modify the stitch pattern to make a crochet hat, messy bun hat, cowl or head warmer, too.
This project features Be So Soulful Yarn in color Fern. I love how the subtlety of this hand dyed color really amplifies the texture of the floral post stitch stitch pattern. The color way Fern explores various concentrations of the same color – just the highlights and lowlights of the very same shade of green. And then Kristin hand massages the color concentrations together to create even more subtle variation from there.
Be So Soulful is a #2 sport weight yarn that is 87% bamboo and 13% Sorona. It is soft, lofty and comes in many hand dyed colors. all hand dyed in Kristin Omdah’s Florida studio.

Caring for your Rachel Fingerless Mitts Crochet Pattern Finished Project:
After you weave in your loose ends, hand wash the finished Rachel Fingerless Mitts in a tsp of Be So Clean Soap in a bowl of lukewarm water. Allow them to soak for a few minutes to absorb the liquid. Remove the mitts from the water, squeeze out the excess water being careful not to twist the yarn. Using fresh towels, press the excess moisture out of the fabric. Place the mittsl flat on a dry surface, adjust the shape to the finished measurements and allow to dry. Because the nature of this type of project must be double thickness when flat, it will increase the drying time required. Add circulating air from a ceiling fan or oscillating floor fan to speed up the drying time
