Sprout Crochet Chain Shawl Pattern

The long chain and solo single crochet stitch pattern featured in The Sprout Crochet Chain Shawl Pattern is easy to memorize and relaxing to crochet. The flower fringe border makes me smile every time I see it. It’s incredibly easy to make because the flowers are worked right into the one-row border, even though they look like they were separately crocheted motifs! This sweet little shawlette adds just the right touch when draped around the shoulders of a pretty dress or wrapped around the neck as an eye-catching scarf. Make it in one statement color or this is a great stash busting pattern, too!

This crochet shawl pattern was originally released in Crochet So Fine Book by Kristin Omdahl as a small shawlette made with sport weight yarn and a smaller hook. This new sample is made larger with dk weight yarn and a larger hook.

What you will need:

• 725 yds (663m) #3 dk weight yarn
• H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
• scissors
• yarn needle

Hobbii Yarn’s Friends Cotton 8/8; 100% cotton, #3 dk weight yarn; 82 yds (75m) per 1.75oz (50g) ball; shown in colors: 51 (A), 554 (B), 45 (C), 47 (D), 48 (E), 71 (F), 65 (G), 61 (H), 63 (I); 1 ball each. 

Gauge: 

16 sts / 12 rows = 4 in (10cm) in stitch pattern

Finished Size:

64 in (162.6cm) wide x 26 in (66cm) long.

Stitch Guide: 

Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), double crochet (dc), and treble crochet (tr).
