Marlon Modular Crochet Afghan Blanket Pattern

This is a special gift for my son who is finally getting back into a home after almost a year displaced by Hurricane Ian. He requested the afghan be lightweight and neutral in color but large enough to fit an entire bed. For extra crafting interest, when I designed the Marlon Modular Crochet Afghan Blanket Pattern, I added 5 colors and used modular construction of one stitch pattern to showcase even in rows, decrease in rows, and increase in rounds.

Crafting Supplies You’ll Need to Make this Crochet Afghan Pattern:

• 1800 yds #4 worsted weight yarn 
• K/10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook
• scissors
• yarn needle

Sample Afghan Shown in:

Hobbii Yarn’s Malaga Color Pack; 100% acrylic, #4 worsted weight yarn; 180 yds (165m) pr 3.5oz (100g) ball; shown in Color pack 01: 01 (A) 2 balls, 05 (B) 2 balls, 07 (C) 2 balls, 09 (D) 3 balls, and 10 (E), 4 balls each.

Gauge: 

 = 4 in (10cm) in stitch pattern

Finished Size:

60 in wide x 80 in long.

Stitch Guide: 

Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), double crochet (dc), and treble crochet (tr).

Pattern notes: 

Weave in loose ends as work progresses

Turn work at the end of each row.

Do not turn work at the end of each round.
