Margot Top Crochet Pattern: Top, Tunic or Dress Crochet Pattern by Kristin Omdahl

The Margo Top Crochet Pattern is a top down raglan yoke pattern that is easy to customize from short sleeve to long or shirt length to dress length because you crochet until your desired length is reached. The simple and pretty stitch pattern is easy to memorize for a relaxing project.

The pattern includes NINE charts and 6 sizes – each size has it’s own yoke chart!

What you will need to make the Margo Top Crochet Pattern:

• 625 (687, 756, 831, 915, 1005) yds or 572.3 (628, 691, 760, 836.4, 920)m #3 dk weight yarn for shirt length
  or
  940 (1034, 1137, 1251, 1376, 1513) yds or 859 (945, 1039.3, 1144, 1258, 1384)m #3 dk weight yarn for dress length

• K/10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook

• Yarn needle

• Scissors

Here are some suggested yarn substitutions for a suitable DK weight yarn:

Ice Yarns:

Cotton Bamboo Light Yarn: 60% bamboo / 40% cotton; 153 yds (140m) per 100 gm (3.5oz) ball. It comes in 29 colors. The suggested needle size is 3 – 4 mm (US 4 – US 6). I think the drape of this yarn would be comparable to Be So Baby Yarn. It is labeled a #3 DK weight yarn. This yarn retails for $2.25/ball or $8.99 per 4 balls.

Jimmy Beans Wools:

Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK Yarn: #3 dk weight 80% bamboo / 20% wool; 104 yds per 50 gm ball; needle size US6. I think the drape and weight of this yarn would be comparable to Be So Baby Yarn. It comes in 13 colors retails for $6.75 per ball.

Knit Picks:

CotLin: #3 Dk weight 70% Tanguis Cotton, 30% Linen; 123 yds per 50gm skein; suggested needle size US 5 – 7. I think the drape and weight of this yarn would be comparable to Be So Baby Yarn. It comes in 44 colors and retails for $4.99 per skein.

Sirdar:

Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK; #3 Dk weight 80% bamboo / 20% wool; 104 yds per 50gm ball; Suggested needle size US6. I think the drape and weight of this yarn would be comparable to Be So Baby Yarn. It comes in 12 colors and retails for $6.50 per ball.

Finished Sizes:

34 (37, 40, 43, 46, 49) in or 86.4 (94, 101.6, 109.2, 116.8, 124.5) cm bust

Shirt length: 18 in (45.7)cm from underarm.

Dress length: 32 in (81.3cm) from underarm.

Both shown in sizes 37 in (94cm).
