Jeannie Velvet Crochet Scrunchies Pattern

In this very easy and beginner friendly crochet pattern, learn to use the half double crochet stitch to make two different velvet crochet scrunchies patterns: a single ruffle and a double ruffle design. In this digital download crochet pattern you will receive written instructions and charts for both the single ruffle and the double ruffle velvet crochet scrunchies patterns.

What you will need to make these velvet crochet scrunchies patterns:

• 100 yds (91.4m) #5 bulky weight yarn total, or:
  35 yds single ruffle scrunchie
  65 yds double ruffle scrunchie
• J/10 (6mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• 2 in (5cm) hair tie

Shown in: Finece Velvet Yarn; 100% polyester, #5 bulky weight yarn; 132 yds (120m) per 3.5 oz (100g) ball; color 2020 Light Camel, 1 ball.

Gauge: 12 sts / 6 rounds = 4 in (10cm) in half double crochet.

Finished size: Both scrunchies are 6 in (15cm) in diameter.

Special Stitch Instructions:

Half double crochet (hdc): Yarn over hook, insert hook in specified stitch or ch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook); yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Half double crochet through back loop only (hdc-blo):  Yarn over hook, insert hook in back loop only of specified stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook); yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Slip Stitch (slst): Insert hook in specified stitch or chain, pull up a loop and continue to pull through loop on hook, too.

Chain (ch): Yarn over hook and pull through working loop on hook.
