This is a side to side construction cardigan worked in tunisian double crochet with stripes.
What you will need:
- 1290 (1420, 1562, 1718, 1890) yds or 1179 (1298, 1428, 1571, 1728)m #3 dk weight yarn
- H/8 (5mm) tunisian crochet hook with cord long enough to handle many stitches
- H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors

Note: To make in one color, you will need 10 (10, 11, 13, 14) balls.
Note: To make in 5 colors as shown: color A Navy 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) balls, color B Indigo 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, color C Periwinkle 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, color D Prince 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, and color E Silver Lavender 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls.

Stitch Guide:
Chain (ch), foundation single crochet (fsc), double crochet, Tunisian double crochet (tdc) and slip stitch (slst).
Foundation single crochet (fsc): Ch2, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yarn over hook and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over hook, pull yarn through first loop on hook, yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops on hook. — 1 fsc made. *Insert hook under 2 loops of ch made at base of previous stitch, yarn over hook and draw up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over hook and draw through first loop on hook, yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops on hook. Rep from * for length of foundation.
Tunisian Double Crochet: Forward: Loop on hook counts as first ch, ch1, skip first vertical bar, *yarn over, insert hook under next vertical bar, yarn over, draw yarn through st, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook; rep from * as required. Return: Yarn over, draw yarn through 1 loop on hook, *yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook. Rep from * across. 1 loop remains and counts as first ch of next row.
