How to Make the Pocket Purse Crochet Pattern by Kristin Omdahl:

First, make one motif. Then make a second motif and join it to the first motif along three sides only.

Next, continue in established “increase in rounds” to grow the joined motifs as one motif for the base of the bag. Then work in a chevron pattern without increases (even in rounds) to create the walls of the bag.
