Leaf Me in Stitches: Boho Diamond Lace Table Runner

What you will need:

  • 246 yds (225m) #3 dk weight yarn
  • H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Shown in: Hobbii Yarn’s Friends Cotton 8/8; #3 dk weight 100% cotton; 82 yds (75m) per 1.75 oz (50g) ball; color Petrol Green, 3 balls.

Gauge: 

14 sts / 7 rows =  4 in (10cm) in stitch pattern

Finished Size:

14 in (35.6cm) wide x 30 in (76.2cm) long, after blocking.

Stitch Guide: 

Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), and 2 double crochet cluster (2dc-cl).

Pattern notes: 

  • Weave in loose ends as work progresses
  • Turn work at the end of each row.
  • Do not turn work at the end of each round.
  • Have fun! Remember the point of being creative is to enjoy it!
  • With a longer starting chain, you could also make this into a beautiful rectangular shawl, baby blanket or afghan, too.

Row 2: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea ofnext 3 dcs, *ch5, skip 1 st, 1dc in next ch7 sp, ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in ea of next 7 dcs. Rep from * across, ch5, skip 1 dc, dc i next ch7 sp, ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in ea of last 4 dcs, turn.

Row 3: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea of next 2 dcs, *ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in net ch5 sp, ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in ea of next 5 dcs. Rep from * across, ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in next dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in ea of last 3 dcs, turn.

Row 4: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in next dc, *ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of next 3 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp, ch5, skip next dc, 1dc in ea of next 3 dcs. Row 5: Ch8 (counts as dc, ch5), *skip 1dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of next 5 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp, ch5, skip next dc, 1dc in next dc. Rep from * across, ch5, skip next dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of next 5 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp, ch5, skip 1 dc, 1dc in last st, turn.

Row 6: Ch7 (counts as dc, ch4), *1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of next 7 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp, ch7, skip next dc. Rep from * across, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of next 7 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp, ch4, dc in last dc, turn.

Row 7: Rep row 5.

Row 8: Rep row 4.

Row 9: Rep row 3.

Row 10: Rep row 2.

Row 11: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea of next 3 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp, *ch7, skip 1dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of next 7 dcs, 1dc in next ch5 sp. Rep from * across, ch7, skip 1 dc, 1dc in next ch5 sp, 1dc in ea of last 4 dcs, turn.

Note: Rep rows 2 – 11 for desired length, for this sample, 29 in (73.7cm) long.

Do not fasten off.

Edging:

Round 1: Ch1, 3sc in first st, 1sc in ea of next 3 dcs, *6sc in next ch7 sp, 1sc in ea of next 9 dcs. Rep from * across, 6sc in next ch7 sp, 1sc in ea of next 4 dcs, 3sc in last dc. Turn work 90 degrees and work along the row-end sts: 2sc in ea row-end st across to beg chain. Turn work 90 degrees and work along free loops of beg ch: 3sc in first ch, 1sc in ea ch across to last ch, 3sc in last ch. Turn work 90 degrees and work along the row-end sts: 2sc in ea row end st across to last row.

Row 2: Ch1, sc in same st, *ch3, 2dc-cl in same st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st. Rep from * around, except on last repeat, replace sc with slst to first sc at beg of round to join. 

Fasten off.

Finishing:

Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
