What you will need:
- 1290 (1420, 1562, 1718, 1890) yds or 1179 (1298, 1428, 1571, 1728)m #3 dk weight yarn
- H/8 (5mm) tunisian crochet hook with cord long enough to handle many stitches
- H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Note: To make in one color, you will need 10 (10, 11, 13, 14) balls.
Note: To make in 5 colors as shown: color A Navy 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) balls, color B Indigo 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, color C Periwinkle 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, color D Prince 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls, and color E Silver Lavender 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) balls.
Finished Size:
Sizes: 36 (42, 48, 52, 60) in or 91.4 (106.7, 121.9, 132.1, 152.4)cm bust, 33 in (83.8cm) long
Shown in size 48 in (121.9cm) bust.
Gauge:
13 sts / 6 rows = 4 in (10cm) in tunisian double crochet, after blocking.
Stitch Guide:
Chain (ch), foundation single crochet (fsc), double crochet, Tunisian double crochet (tdc) and slip stitch (slst).
Foundation single crochet (fsc): Ch2, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yarn over hook and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over hook, pull yarn through first loop on hook, yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops on hook. — 1 fsc made. *Insert hook under 2 loops of ch made at base of previous stitch, yarn over hook and draw up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over hook and draw through first loop on hook, yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops on hook. Rep from * for length of foundation.
Tunisian Double Crochet: Forward: Loop on hook counts as first ch, ch1, skip first vertical bar, *yarn over, insert hook under next vertical bar, yarn over, draw yarn through st, yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook; rep from * as required. Return: Yarn over, draw yarn through 1 loop on hook, *yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook. Rep from * across. 1 loop remains and counts as first ch of next row.

Set Up Row: With color A, FSC 108 sts
Row 1: Tunisian double crochet across.
Rows 2 – 27 (31, 36, 40, 45): Rep row 1.
If you choose to work in the vertical stripe sequence as shown, work 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) rows in color A but on the last return, change to color B. Then work 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) rows in color B but on the last return, change to color C. Then work 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) rows in color C but on the last return, change to color D. Then work 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) rows in color D but on the last return, change to color E. Then work 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) rows in color E but on the last return, change to color D. Row 28 (32, 37, 41, 46: With color A, ch1, sc in ea st across. Fasten off.

Rows 2 – 15 (17, 20, 22, 25): Rep row 1. — 108 sts
If you choose to work the vertical stripe sequins as shown, work 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) rows in color A but on the last return, change to color B. Then work 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) rows in color B but on the last return, change to color C. Then work 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) rows in color C but on the last return, change to color D. Then work 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) rows in color D but on the last return, change to color E. Then work 3 (3, 4, 4, 5) rows in color E.
Row 16 (18, 21, 23, 26): With color E, tunisian double crochet across entire row. — 108 sts
Note: For v-neck shaping, slst across first 3 sts at beg of each row for last 6 rows at neck edges.
Assembly: Sew fronts and back together at shoulder seam. Sew side seams, leaving 6 in (15.2cm) open for side vents.
Side Vent Hems (make 4):
Row 1: With color A, join with slst to any edge of exposed side vent, ch2 (counts as dc), work 1dc in ea st across.
Row 2: Ch2 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea st across.
Row 3: Rep row 2. Fasten off.
Note: Overlap the flaps with front on top before sewing them to the body of the sweater over the side seam.
Right Front Lower Body Hem:
Row 1: With color A, join with slst to bottom corner of right front, ch2 (counts as dc), evenly work 2dc in ea end of row across, including working across side vent hem.
Row 2: Ch2 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea st across.
Row 3: Rep row 2. Fasten off.
Left Front Lower Body Hem:
Rows 1 – 3: Rep rows 1 – 3 of Right Front Lower Body Hem.
Lower Back Body Hem:
Rows 1 – 3: Rep rows 1 – 3 of Right Front Lower Body Hem, starting at right side vent and ending at left side vent.
Collar:
Row 1: With color A, join with slst to bottom of right front hem, ch2 (counts as dc), work 2dc in ea end of row across right front hem, work 1dc in ea st across right front, work 2dc in ea end of row across back neck, work 1dc in ea st across left front, and work 2dc in ea end of row across left front hem.
Rows 2 – 3: Rep rows 2 – 3 of Right Front Lower Body Hem.
Sleeves (make 2):
Row 1: Join color A with slst to side Work 52 (54, 56, 58, 60) tunisian double crochet sts even centered across shoulder, work half the stitches before the center seam and half after.
Rows 2 – 10: Work even in tunisian double crochet.
Row 11: Working in Tunisian double crochet, decrease 1 st on ea side of row in the return as follows: *yo, draw through 2 loops on hook. Rep from * across to last 3 loops: Yo, draw through all 3 loops on hook. — 50 (52, 54, 56, 58) sts
Rows 12: Rep row 2.
Row 13: Rep row 11. — 48 (50, 52, 54, 56) sts
Rows 14: Rep row 2.
Row 15: Rep row 4. — 46 (48, 50, 52, 54) sts
Rows 16: Rep row 2
Row 17: Rep row 4. — 44 (46, 48, 50, 52) sts
Rows 18: Rep row 2.
Row 19: Ch2 (counts as dc), work 1dc in ea st across.
Row 20 – 21: Rep row 19. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing sleeve seam. Sew sleeve seam.
Belt:
Row 1: With color A, Ch4, 3dc in 4th ch from hook. — 4 dcs
Row 2: Slst into sp between 2nd and 3rd st on prev row, ch3, 3dc in same sp.
Rep row 2 until belt is desired length. At the end of last row, slst into sp between 2nd and 3rd st on prev row, fasten off.

Finishing:
Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
