Callie Mae Knit Cowl Pattern with Crochet Flower by Kristin Omdahl
This is super simple combination pattern of a knit cowl with a crochet flower embellishment. The knit cowl is sized to be able to make it on a tubular knitting machine or to be knit by hand.

What you will need:
- 306 yds (280m) #4 worsted weight yarn
- K/10.5 (6.5mm) crochet hook
- US10 (6mm) 16 in circular knitting needles
or
Addi Express King Size knitting machine - Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker

Finished Size:
Cowl is 6 in wide and 34 in diameter.
Gauge:
Knit: 14 sts/16 rounds = 4 in (10cm) in stockinette stitch.
Crochet: First two rounds of motif is 4 in (10cm) diameter.
Stitch Guide:
Cast on (co), bind off (bo), knit (k), purl (p), chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc) place marker (pm) and slip marker (sm).
Chain 3 picot: Ch3, sc in 3rd ch from hook.
Instructions:
Crochet Flower:
Ch5, slst to 5th ch from hook to form ring.
Round 1: Ch5 (counts as dc, ch2), (dc in ring, ch2)x7, slst to 3rd ch of beg ch5 to join. — 8 dcs, 8 ch2 sps
Round 2: Ch3 (counts as dc), 3dc in ch2 sp, *dc in next dc, 3dc in next ch2 sp. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 32 dcs
Round 3: Ch1, sc in same st, *ch5, skip 3 dcs, sc in next dc. Rep from * around, except on last repeat replace sc with slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. — 8 scs, 8 ch5 sps
Round 4: Ch1, sc in same st, *(ch1, hdc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc, ch1, hdc, ch1) in next ch5 sp, sc in next sc. Rep from * around, except on last repeat replace sc with slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. — 24 dcs, 16 hdcs, 8 scs
Round 5: Ch1, sc in same st, *skip 1 ch1 sp, (ch1, dc in next ch1 sp)x2, ch1, (2dc, ch3 picot, 1dc) in next dc, (ch1, dc in next ch1 sp)x2, ch1, skip 1 ch1 sp, sc in next sc. Rep from * around, except on last repeat replace sc with slst to top of first st at beg of round to join. Fasten off. — 8 ch3 picots, 56 dcs
Knit Scarf:
CO 46 sts, leaving 1 yd long tail.
Round 1: Knit around, pm. — 46 sts
Repeat round 1 until you have 2 yards of yarn remaining. Thread tail onto yarn needle and inset into each stitch to cinch closed. Fasten off.
Thread beginning tail onto yarn needle. Cinch tube closed. Sew cast on cinched edge to bound off cinched edge to join scarf into a cowl.
Sew flower to scarf where the cinched ends meet.
Finishing:
Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
