I have worked in the craft industry for almost 2 decades. I have designed and written almost 1000 knit and crochet patterns, published dozens of books and starred on 2 TV shows! I’ve taught millions of students in person and on my YouTube channel. One of the most frequent questions I am asked, is which patterns do I recommend for a beginner.

Are you new to knitting and looking for beginner patterns? How do you define beginner knit patterns? I think projects for beginners can be anything from easy simple stitches, thick yarn, lots of pattern and tutorial support, and/or quick projects. My favorite advice is to choose a pattern that excites you. Excitement is the best motivation for learning something new. And the more you practice, the better your skills become at knitting or anything else you desire to learn.
