Twilight Skies Crochet Vest FREE Crocheting Pattern
This visually stunning motif yoke vest starts at the top with a beautiful openwork lace yoke made of pentagon shaped motifs. The pentagon shape provides a wonderful scalloped edge from which to continue the body of the sweater in a chevron pattern. Inspiration for the Twilight Skies Crochet Vest FREE Crocheting Pattern
Manipulating motifs to create shaping is an interesting concept for creating a shaped yoke for a sweater. For this particularly design, I converted square motifs into 5-sided pentagon motifs so the surface length of the bottom side of the motifs was double the length of the top side, thereby creating increases for a round yoke. To further accentuate the wavey edge, I worked the rest of the body in a modified chevron stitch that has different rates of increase/decrease for each size to create subtle shaping so that all sizes ultimately look very similar.
This stunning crochet vest features Be So Baby Yarn in color Eggplant.

Thank you not only for this pattern but for all the wonderful patterns and tutorials you provide. I so appreciate it. Looking forward to making this soon.
Hello Kristin. I have your 2016 book, Continuous Crochet ,which says the yarn needed for the Twilight Skies vest is #4 worsted weight. That’s what I purchased. Now I see in your online pattern and video that the yarn type is #3 DK. Can I still use the #4 yarn? Is the book pattern different from the online version and video? Thank you!
You need to achieve gauge with your swatch after blocking. Regardless of what yarn you use or what hook size you use, as long as you achieve blocked gauge measurements, you will be fine!
