Materials:

(2) hanks Be So Brave Yarn; 100% pure American Merino Wool #4 medium; 120 yds (109m) per 2oz (56g); colorway Shining Sea
US10.5 (6.5mm) circular knitting needles, 16”
Yarn needle
Cable needle
split ring stitch marker

#3 DK Weight Yarn

Be So Baby Yarn

Gauge: 3.5sts/5 rounds = 1”

Finished size: 24” circumference x 12” tall

 

Stitch Abbreviations:

CO cast on; BO bind off; K knit; P purl; PM place marker; SM slip marker; YO yarn over; Sl slip stitch

Special Stitch Instructions:

KCO knit cast on: Start with a slip knot. *Knit 1, leaving stitch on left needle. Transfer new stitch onto left needle by slipping it knit-wise. Repeat from *.

C4B cable 4 back: slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold to back of work, knit the next 2 sts, then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle.

C4F cable 4 front: slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold to front of work, knit the next 2 sts, then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle.

Instructions:

Edging:

Round 1: KCO 88 sts, pm.

Round 2: purl around, sm.

Round 3: knit around, sm.

Round 4: purl around, sm.

 

Body:

Round 1: knit around, sm.

Round 2: *p4, k4. Rep from * around, sm.

Rounds 3 – 6: rep rounds 1 – 2 two more times, sm.

Round 7: knit around, sm.

Round 8: *k4, p4. Rep from * around, sm.

Round 9: knit around, sm.

Round 10: Remove stitch marker and slip the last 2 sts from round 9 onto a cable needle and send to back of work, knit the next 2 sts on LH needle, then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle, slip the next 2 sts from LH needle onto cable needle and send to front of work, knit the next 2 sts from LH needle then knit the 2 sts from the cable needle. *C4B, C4F. Rep from * around, knit the last 2 sts, slip marker back into position.

Rounds 11 – 50: rep rounds 1 – 10 four more times.

Rounds 51 – 54: rep rounds 1 – 4 once more.

 

Edging:

Round 1: purl around, sm.

Round 2: knit around, sm.

Round 3: knit around, sm.

Round 4: purl around, sm.

BO all sts. Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.
