UPDATE 1/21/2021: Day of the Dragonflies fabric collection is now available in Kristin’s Spoonflower shop HERE
“Day of the Dragonflies” by Kristin Omdahl is a twelve print collection of quilting fabrics for Blank Quilting Corporation. Shipping in July 2016, the collection launched digitally this week. Ask your favorite quilting shop to contact their sales rep here: Blank Quilting Corp Sales
Last year while exhibiting at a craft show, an executive from Blank Quilting Corporation stopped into Kristin’s booth to admire her artwork. They exchanged contact information and very shortly thereafter began discussing the possibility of Kristin designing a cohesive collection of twelve prints. Always up for a challenge, Kristin jumped at the opportunity!
The “Day of the Dragonflies” collection is inspired by the ever-popular sugar skull theme, but with a girly twist. Kristin took her love of florals, spirals and dragonflies and intermingled them with the sugar skulls. Most of these feature the color palette so indicative of Kristin’s love of tropical flowers and ocean vistas. However, in light of the hot trend of coloring books as the “new meditative technique for stress relief”, we left a few of the prints in black and white. You can custom color your own palette and relieve stress at the same time!
Having a background in sewing long before knitting and crochet, expect to find Kristin designing beach quilts and tote bags when she can get her hands on the first bolts of fabric! Also, look for Kristin’s first digital quilt design patterns to be launched very soon. Kristin is thrilled to be working with Blank Corporation, and is already working on the next collection!
Don’t know if you remember, but a couple of months ago I asked you when you were going to draw Dragonflies, and you said, "Stay tuned"! Well it was worth the wait, they are absolutely beautiful. The colors are exactly what I would use if I were drawing and coloring them. GREAT JOB!!!!
I do remember that, Cindy! This was a very big secret that was hard to keep!!! 🙂

OMG! It’s amazing!
Thank you, Bev!

Love this – just bought it yesterday, now what to do with it! I’m thinking bags rather than quilts so I don’t have to cut up the skulls too much!
Can’t wait to see what you make with it! xoxo, Kristin
