Part 7 of 7 of MCAL Mystery Crochet Along July 2024: Are you ready for a crochet adventure like no other? Introducing our Mystery Crochet Along (MCAL) – a thrilling, fun, and beginner-friendly project that will keep you hooked from start to finish!

What you will need:

  • Yarn: I’m using Hobbii Yarns Friends Cotton 8/6 [100% cotton, dk weight yarn; 115 yds (105m) per 1.75 oz (50g) balls] in 3 colors (03 Oatmilk, 88 Turkish Blue, 61 Thistle), but you can use any DK weight yarn and in one color or any combination of colors you like.
    Total yardage: 345 yds (315m) dk weight yarn, in any combination of colors
  • Hook: H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

  • Stitch Guide:Double crochet (dc): Wrap the yarn over the hook and insert the hook into the work (or specified chain from hook), wrap the yarn over the hook, draw through the work only and wrap the yarn again. Draw through the first two loops only and wrap the yarn around the hook again. Draw through the last two loops on the hook.DC Foundation oval: Ch3, dc in 3rd ch from hook.Foundation single crochet (fsc): Ch2, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, yarn over hook and pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over hook, pull yarn through first loop on hook, yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops on hook. — 1 fsc made. *Insert hook under 2 loops of ch made at base of previous stitch, yarn over hook and draw up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over hook and draw through first loop on hook, yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops on hook. Rep from * for length of foundation.Chain (ch): Wrap the yarn over the hook in a clockwise direction. Draw the yarn through to form a new loop without tightening the previous one.Slip Stitch (slst): Insert hook into specified stitch. Wrap the yarn over the hook. Draw the yarn through the stitch and through the loop on the hook.Single crochet (sc): Insert the hook into the work (or specified chain from hook), wrap the yarn over the hook and pull the yarn through the work only. Wrap the yarn around the hook again and pull it through both loops.

Part 7 MCAL Instructions:

Round 1: Ch1, *2sc in ea row end st across, 1sc in foundation oval (fo), 13 foundation sc (fsc), 1sc in next fo. Rep from * once more, 2sc in ea row end st around, slst to top of first sc at beg of round to join.

Rounds 2 – 5: Ch1, sc in ea st around, slst to top of first sc at beg of round to join.

Fasten off.
