This top down shawl has a three-row repeating pattern. The edging is modified to amplify the graphic design of the stitch pattern.

Aubrey Crochet Shawl Pattern

What you will need:

• 580 yds (528m) #5 bulky weight yarn
• M/13 (9mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

First 2 rows = 5 in (12.7cm) wide x 2 in (5cm) tall in double crochet.

Finished Size:

68 in (172.7cm) wide x 28 in (71.1cm) tall.

Stitch Guide:

Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), double crochet (dc), treble crochet (tr), double crochet 2 together (dc2tog), font post double crochet (fpdc), double crochet 4 together (dc4tog), double crochet 5 together (dc5tog), and single crochet (sc).

Instructions:

Ch5, slst to form ring.

Row 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 8dc in ring. — 9 dcs

Row 2: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in same dc, 2dc in ea dc across. — 18 dcs

Row 3: Ch4 (counts as tr), 1tr in next dc, *ch2, 1dc in ea of next 6 dcs, ch2, 1tr in ea of next 2 dcs. Rep from * once more. — 6 trs, 12 dcs, 4 ch2 sps

Row 4: Ch4 (counts as tr), 1tr in next tr, *ch1, 1dc in ea of next 3 dcs, ch3, slst in same dc, slst in next dc, ch3, 1dc in same dc, 1dc in ea of next 2 dcs, ch1, 1tr in ea of next 2 trs. Rep from * across. — 6 trs, 12 dcs, 4 ch2 sps
