How to Make Easy Crochet Star Motif and Join as you Go Video Free Crochet Pattern by Kristin Omdahl

I designed this super simple star motif to make ornaments for my handmade Christmas tree this year. But, you could make all sorts of things with this motif. Watch the video to learn how to make it and at the end of the video I even show you how to join it to other motifs as you go – NO SEWING! And I also show you how to weave in your ends.

Easy Star Crochet Motif:

use any yarn and appropriate hook size you want

Instructions:

Ch5, slst to 5th ch from hook to form ring.
Round 1: ch1, 10 sc in ring, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 10 scs
Round 2: ch1, *sc in st, (2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next st. Rep from * around, slst to first st at beg of round to join. Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.

NOTE: If you are making an ornament, replace ch1 with ch13 on any star point.
