Designing LIVE with Kristin Omdahl Part 1:

In the first segment, I talked about color theory with 28. colors of Be So Baby Yarn for samples. And I demonstrated on a white board how to develop gradient color changes with row gauge, finished project sizes, number of colors desired and a little math.

Then in the second segment, I asked for the audience input as we chose colors: 2 color combinations for the custom gradient striped hat and 1 color for the solid color hat. I shared a special plying technique to triple strand the solid color hat with only 1 ball of yarn: chain plying (also called Navaho Knitting).

In the third segment, I cast on the knitting in the round hat (with 1 color of yarn triple stranded with chain plying technique) and I cast on the knitting in rows hat (with 2 colors of yarn triple stranded for custom gradient color work) and alternated knitting both hats at the same time. By the end of the video, one of the hats is completed and assembled.
