Chanelle Easy Beginner Chain & Bobble Crochet Necklace Free Pattern

This is a simple and quick project that makes a fantastic gift. With deceptively simple techniques, you can make a beaded cascading necklace without beads OR clasps! All you will need is a little  yarn and a crochet hook.

Make them in every color of your wardrobe! Make them in solid colors; variegated colors; and even change the color from one strand to the next. There are unlimited combinations!

What you will need:

100 yards fingering weight yarn
D/3 (3.25mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scissors

Stitches Used:

Chain (ch): Wrap the yarn over the hook in a counterclockwise direction. Draw the yarn through to form a new loop without tightening the previous one.

Single Crochet (sc): Insert the hook into the work (or second chain from hook), wrap the yarn over the hook and draw the yarn through the work only. Wrap the yarn again and draw it through both loops.

Hdc Puff Stitch (puff): *yo, insert hook in specified stitch and pull up a loop. Rep from * 4 more times. Yo, pull through all 11 loops on hook. Ch1 to tighten.

Gauge:

6 chs = 1″ approximately

Finished size:

26″ circumference for shortest strand, 29″ circumference for longest strand

Instructions:

First strand:

Round 1: Ch 28, puff in 3rd ch from hook. *Ch5, puff in 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * 23 more times. Ch25, slst to first ch at beg of round to join. — 25 puffs (beads)

Second strand:

Round 2: Ch1, sc in same st, ch28, puff in 3rd ch from hook. *Ch5, puff in 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * 22 more times. Ch25, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 24 puffs (beads)

Third strand:

Round 3: Ch1, sc in same st, ch28, puff in 3rd ch from hook. *Ch5, puff in 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * 21 more times. Ch25, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 23 puffs (beads)

Fourth strand:

Round 4: Ch1, sc in same st, ch28, puff in 3rd ch from hook. *Ch5, puff in 3rd ch from hook. Rep from * 20 more times. Ch25, slst to first st at beg of round to join. — 22 puff (beads)

Finishing:

Work 9sc around all 4 chains (necklace strands). Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.
