Follow along the chart or the line by line instructions to whip up this project in no time. The chart includes several more rounds than are shown on the finished project, to be sure your mandala will fit whatever size ring you may find.
Use this mandala motif for afghans, shawls, or a wrap, too! I would love to wrap myself in this gorgeous color work.
Please refer to How To Crochet page for video tutorials and glossary definitions for every stitch used in this pattern.

Instruction to make the Serene Crochet Mandala Wall Hanging Free Pattern:
NOTE: If you are changing color ever round, fasten off at the end of each round. If you are using one color for the whole project, do not fasten off at the end of each round.

NOTE: if your metal ring can be opened, you can slip the mandala motif onto it without having to crochet onto the ring. Otherwise, you want to replace a ch with a slst to join to the ring, similarly to joining motifs together.
If you join round 9 to a metal ring (like the sample shown): slst into ea of next 3 dcs, ch3, dc in same st. 2dc in next st, ch2, slst to metal ring, ch2, 2dc idea of next 2 sts. *Ch1, skip next 5 sts, 2dc in ea of next 2 sts, ch2, slst to metal ring, ch2, 2dc in ea of next 2 sts. Rep from * around, ch1, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 16 ch5 sps
If you join round 11 to a metal ring:
slst into first ch1 sp, ch1, sc in same sp, (ch3, sc in next ch1 sp)x2, ch1, slst to metal ring, ch1, sc in next ch 1 sp, (ch3, sc in next ch1 sp)x2, ch1. *Sc in next ch1 sp, (ch3, sc in next ch1 sp)x2, ch1, slst to metal ring, ch1, sc in next ch1 sp, (ch3, sc in next ch1 sp)x2, ch1.
