Salted Toffee with Mixed Nuts and Chocolate FREE Recipe

This is so outrageously delicious and way easier and quicker to make than you would think! If you shop bulk at Costco it’s not very expensive, either. I’m making huge batches to give as gifts this holiday season, but the recipe below is for one cookie sheet (which makes a couple generously sized gifts or a big platter for a party).

What you will need:

2 cups salted mixed nuts (you could choose a specific nut for your preference, and you could also choose unsalted if you prefer)

1 cup chopped pecans

2 cups chocolate chips

1 cup butter

1 cup organic cane sugar

Instructions:
1. Spread mixed nuts evenly across an ungreased cookie sheet.

2. Melt butter and add sugar in a medium saucepan on high heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon.

3. When the mixture starts bubbling, turn heat to medium and continue to stir constantly for 10 – 13 minutes, or until mixture turns light golden brown. (Could also read 300 degrees F on candy thermometer). Or, drop a small amount into cold water and if it hardens immediately it is done.

4. Quickly pour toffee mixture over the nuts on the cookie sheet. Move quickly as it begins to harden faster than you might think.

5. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 3 – 5 minutes, then smooth the melted chocolate over the entire tray of toffee.

6. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top.

7. Cool in refrigerator until completely hardened and set.

8. Break into chard-like pieces. Smaller for a serving platter or larger for a gift box.
