Thank you for choosing to knit and crochet Kristin Omdahl patterns!
I know that you have thousands of choices for buying yarn and body care products. I want you to know what makes MY products special, and feel good about shopping the Kristin Omdahl brand.
Kristin Omdahl products have a heart! That’s right, a portion of every sale supports the charity I established: Project Kristin Cares.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, a hugely hidden problem in our society. You, or someone you know, has been affected by it, or is still suffering now. Statistics show that 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men have been victims of domestic violence during their lifetimes.
But because it is so rarely discussed, I always felt like I was alone. One of the worst parts for me was that feeling of loneliness and having a dirty secret that had to be hidden.
Through my charity, Project Kristin Cares, we can make a difference in the lives of people who have been affected by domestic violence. I want to share the message that victims are not at fault, not alone and should not be embarrassed to share their stories.
Kristin Omdahl products are beautiful, thoughtful and valuable. But even more importantly, every time you purchase a product from my company, a portion of the sale supports
Project Kristin Cares. Please help me knock out domestic violence, one sale at a time.
xoxo, Kristin

    Hi
I’m sorry to bother you. I’m new to knitting and have followed your pattern thank you. It knits up beautifully but I haven’t used the same wool as you and it’s knitted up pretty small I’ve got to row 36 and mine only measures 20cms deep by 45cms wide how do carry on increasing the pattern once I get to the end of your instructions I’m trying to work it out but I’m new to all of this. My mother in law has breast cancer and I’m knitting this as a surprise to try and cheer her up a bit.. she has had to have a full mastectomy and sadly the cancer has spread. Please can you help? I hope you don’t think I am being rude by asking. Kind regards Anna. Ps I think I am going to have to increase by another 2 times the final size a time least to make a shawl to keep her warm. Many thanks

    • Kristin Omdahl says:

If you are using a different yarn and different needles and getting a different gauge, you will definitely be creating a different size finished project. If you want to add more rows to increase the size of your shawl, you simply work longer in the established pattern, increasing in the same increments as you did throughout the pattern. I hope that helps! Please keep me posted.

I started knitting this awesome shawl but I believe I found a mistake on row 25 of this typed pattern… I believe the last k1on row 25 should be a k3

  3. Anna says:

Hi Kristin, If I would like to continue the shawl longer than your pattern, do you have a suggestion how to calculate it further? is there a way to do that? or not? Thank you

    • Kristin Omdahl says:

This shawl can easily be made bigger! The pattern is a pretty simple repeat, if you pay attention to the similarities from the prior rows. You repeat the same sequence of stitches, but just more times.
