Six Petal Flower KNIT Motif FREE Pattern
by Kristin Omdahl
This motif is knit without shape, meaning it naturally will be a circular shape. However, it can easily be blocked to other shapes, including square and hexagon (6 sided). Square doesn’t look as pleasing as hexagon because of the multiple used in the petals. I would prefer to re-design the motif to have either 4 petals or 8 to make a square motif. Leaving it circular and sewing up the sides as 4 sides, but leaving the corners unsewn would be a beautiful compromise between a circle and a square motif.
Materials:
Be So Brave Yarn; 100% American Merino Wool, #4 medium worsted weight; 120yd (109m) per 2oz (56gm). Color shown is Flamingo
(1) set of US10 (6mm) double pointed knitting needles
Yarn needle
Split ring stitch marker (optional)
#3 DK Weight Yarn
Gauge: depending on the type of project you use this motif for, gauge may or may not be critical for this motif.
NOTE: this motif took 39 yards to make. At that rate, you can get 3 full and 1 partial motif from one hank of Be So Brave Yarn. Depending on the size of your project, this is helpful information for determining the amount of yarn to order.
Finished size: 12′ diameter, after blocking
Suggested uses: This motif would be beautiful as a long scarf, a cowl, a shawl (triangular or rectangular) an afghan, a sweater. The possibilities are endless! I can also see this being a beautiful earring in fine gauge wire. Or framed in a metal ring for a dreamcatcher or wall hanging. Or very special bath wash cloths – this would be a wonderful gift set in bamboo or cotton. This motif has tons of possibilities.

Thank you for choosing to knit and crochet Kristin Omdahl patterns!
I know that you have thousands of choices for buying yarn and body care products. I want you to know what makes MY products special, and feel good about shopping the Kristin Omdahl brand.
Kristin Omdahl products have a heart! That’s right, a portion of every sale supports the charity I established: Project Kristin Cares.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, a hugely hidden problem in our society. You, or someone you know, has been affected by it, or is still suffering now. Statistics show that 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 4 men have been victims of domestic violence during their lifetimes.
But because it is so rarely discussed, I always felt like I was alone. One of the worst parts for me was that feeling of loneliness and having a dirty secret that had to be hidden.
Through my charity, Project Kristin Cares, we can make a difference in the lives of people who have been affected by domestic violence. I want to share the message that victims are not at fault, not alone and should not be embarrassed to share their stories.
Kristin Omdahl products are beautiful, thoughtful and valuable. But even more importantly, every time you purchase a product from my company, a portion of the sale supports
Project Kristin Cares. Please help me knock out domestic violence, one sale at a time.
xoxo, Kristin
