Materials:

(2) hank Be So Brave Yarn; 100% pure American Merino Wool #4 medium; 120 yds (109m) per 2oz (56g); Colorway Huckleberry Pie
US8 (5mm) circular knitting needles
Cable needle
Yarn needle
titch marker (optional)

CO cast on; BO bind off; K knit; P purl; C6F Cable 6 Front; C6B Cable 6 Back; C4F Cable 4 Front; C4B Cable 4 Back; C2F Cable 2 Front; C2B Cable 2 Back; RS right side; WS wrong side; PM place marker; SM slip marker; M1 make one stitch

Special Stitch Instructions:

C6F: slip 3 sts to cable needle and move to front of work, knit the next 3 sts from the LH needle, knit the 3 sts from the cable needle.

C6B: slip 3 sts to cable needle and move to back of work, knit the next 3 sts from the LH needle, knit hte 3 sts from the cable needle.

C4F: slip 2 sts to cable needle and more to front of work, knit the next 2 sts from the LH needle, knit the 2 sts from the cable needle.

C4B: slip 2 sts to cable needle and move to back of work, knit the next 2 sts from the LH needle, knit the 2 sts from the cable needle.

C2F: slip 1 st to cable needle and move to front of work, knit the next 1 st from the LH needle, knit the 1 st from the cable needle.

C2B: slip 1 st to cable needle and more to back of work, knit the next 1 st from the LH needle, knit the 1 st from the cable needle.

M1: insert needle into the stitch below the stitch just worked, pick up and knit new loop (increase made).

Instructions:

HAT(knit in the round):

BRIM:

CO 72 sts, PM, join in a ring, making sure not to twist cast on sts. — 72 sts

Round 1: knit around. — 72 sts

Round 2: purl around. — 72 sts

Rounds 3 – 6: rep rounds 1 – 2 two more times. — 72 sts

BODY:

Round 7 (increasing):*M1, k5. Rep from * around. — 84 sts

Rounds 8 – 10: knit around. — 84 sts

Round 11: C6B, C6F. Rep from * around. — 84 sts

Rounds 12 – 14: knit around. — 84 sts

Rounds 15 – 18: knit around. — 84 sts

Round 19: rep round 11. — 84 sts

Rounds 20 – 22: knit around. — 84 sts

Rounds 23 – 54: rep rounds 15 – 22 four more times.

Decreasing for CROWN:

Rounds 55 – 57: knit around. — 84 sts

Round 58: *k2tog, k1. Rep from * around. — 56 sts

Round 59: *C4B, C4F. Rep from * around. — 56 sts

Rounds 60 – 65: knit around. — 56 sts

Round 66: k2tog around. — 28 sts

Round 67: *C2B, C2F. Rep from * around. — 28 sts

Rounds 68 – 70: knit around. — 28 sts.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Thread onto yarn needle. Thread yarn needle and yarn through all live sts and take off needle. Carefully cinch all sts closed. Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.
