Easy Crochet Catnip Toys for Cats FREE Crochet Pattern by Kristin Omdahl

Easy quick and sure to please the kitties in your house! Beginner crochet project, using only single crochet and chain. Worsted weight yarn, H/8 (5mm) crochet hook, a little fiberfil and some CATNIP!!!

What you’ll need:
a small amount of worsted weight yarn
H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
a small amount of fiberfil
a small amount of catnip

Instructions:
Round 1: ch2, 8sc in 2nd ch from hook. Do not join. — 8 scs
Round 2: 2sc in ea st around. Do not join. — 16 scs
Rounds 3 – 8: 1sc in ea st around. Do not join. — 16 scs
Round 9: sc2tog in ea st around. — 8 scs
Fasten off, leaving a tail approx. 24 inches long. Alternate layers of fiberfil and catnip until ball is full. With yarn needle, thread through all 8 rem sts and cinch closed. Insert hook into work, and pull up a loop with the tail yarn. Chain until you run out of yarn. Fasten off. Tie a knot and weave in loose end.
