What you will need:

• 290 yds (264m) #5 bulky weight yarn
• L/11 (8mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Be So Easy Yarn; 100% milk  cotton, #5 bulky weight yarn; 145 yds (132m) per 3.5oz (100g); color Putty, 2 balls.

Gauge:

10 sts / 6 rows = 4 in (10cm) in double crochet.

Finished Size:

28 in (71.1cm) circumference x 12 in (30.5cm) tall.

Stitch Guide:

Chain (ch), slip stitch (slst), double crochet (dc), front post double crochet (fpdc), front post treble crochet (fptr), double crochet 2 together (dc2tog), double crochet 4 together (dc4tog), double crochet 5 together (dc5tog), and single crochet (sc).

Instructions:

Ch72, slst to form ring.

Round 1: Ch3 (counts as dc), 4dc in same ch, *ch2, skip 4 chs, dc in next ch, ch1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch, ch2, skip 4 chs, 5dc in next ch. Rep from * around, ch2, skip 4 chs, dc in next ch, ch1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch, ch2, skip 4 chs, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join. — 5 5dc shells

Round 2: Ch3 (counts as dc), dc in same dc, 2dc in next dc, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in ea of next 2 dcs, fpdc around post of next dc, ch1, fpdc around post of next dc, *2dc in ea of next 2 dcs, 1dc in next dc, 2dc in ea of next 2 dcs, fpdc around post of next dc, ch1, fpdc around post of next dc. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join.

Round 3: Ch3 (counts as dc), 1dc in ea of next 8 dcs, fpdc around next fpdc, ch1, fpdc around next fpdc, *1dc in ea of next 9 dcs, fpdc around next fpdc, ch1, fpdc around next fpdc. Rep from * around, slst to top of ch3 at beg of round to join.

Round 4: Ch3 (counts as first leg of first dc2tog), dc in next dc, dc2tog over next 2 dcs, 1dc in next dc, (dc2tog over next 2 dcs)x2, fpdc around next fpdc, ch1, fpdc around next fpdc, *(dc2tog over next 2 dcs)x2, 1dc in next dc, (dc2tog over next 2 dcs)x2, fpdc around next fpdc, ch1, fpdc around next fpdc. Rep from * around, slst to top of first dc2tog at beg of round to join.

Round 5: Ch3 (counts as first leg of first dc5tog), dc4tog over next 4 dcs, ch4, fpdc around next fpdc, ch1, fpdc around next fpdc, *ch4, dc5tog over next 5 dcs, ch4, fpdc around next fpdc, ch1, fpdc around next fpdc. Round 16: Ch1, sc in ea st and ch around, slst to top of first sc at beg of round to join. — 72 scs

Round 17: Slst loosely in each st around. Fasten off.

Slst to join in any free loop of beg chain. Rep rounds 16 – 17 in free loops of beg chain.

Finishing:

Weave in loose ends. Hand wash, block to finished measurements and allow to dry.
